The alternative to Petrol

With its ever increasing demand and exponentially decreasing supply, petrol is one of the most precious element on earth right now. Its absence has created a ruckus not only in commuting but has lead to economic depressions and instability, strikes and headaches.

The TGCC EN02 task required us to find an alternative to this fuel and here it is :

Hydrogen (H2) is a potentially emissions-free alternative fuel that can be produced from domestic resources. Although not widely used today as a transportation fuel, government and industry research and development are working toward the goal of clean, economical, and safe hydrogen production and hydrogen fuel cell vehicles.

The ratio of water released to energy-released per fuel mass is is over two times as much water per unit of energy is released by a hydrogen fuel cell as is released in gasoline combustion for a given fuel mass.

India which has joined 14 other nations and the European Commission in signing a crucial pact to coordinate hydrogen research and technology development have been elected vice-chairman of the steering committee of the International Partnership of the Hydrogen Economy (IPHE).

Adequate availability of infrastructure and trained technical manpower would be the driving force for India emerging as a major center for evolution of hydrogen fuel cell know-how
